Dou Kani, Chairman and Co-Founder of Power Japan Plus, previously served as Manager of Financial and New Business Development at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT), the world’s largest telecommunications company (ranked 29th in the Fortune Global 500). He also acted as Senior Specialist of New Business Development for multinational electronics company RICOH; in his role as business incubator, Mr. Kani focused on new energy and eco-friendly technologies.
Hiroaki Nishina is the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-founder of Power Japan Plus, overseeing the operations and overall direction of the company's development, expansion, and partnership efforts. With nearly 20 years of experience as a pioneer and entrepreneur in the technology industry, Hiroaki Nishina joined Power Japan Plus in 2014. Early in his career, Mr. Nishina served as CEO and founder of ADM, a software and system development company for SONY PlayStation. Following this role, he acted as a consultant for Superscape, Plc., where he worked to design and develop a 3D engine for cellular companies. In 2000, Mr. Nishina founded Synapse Communications, where he developed artificial intelligence software to administer remote medicine using medical imaging.
Dr. Kaname Takeya, the Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, and Co-founder of Power Japan Plus, has been working on the field of photo semiconductors, permanent magnets, multi-layer ceramic capacitors, nickel-metal hydride batteries, and lithium rechargeable batteries. Dr. Takeya previously served as manager of the advanced materials group at Sumitomo Metal Mining, where he developed the battery material technology now used in the batteries of the Toyota Prius and Tesla EV. At Quallion and EnerDel, Dr. Takeya helped develop high-powered batteries capable of withstanding rigorous environments, for use in satellites and implantable medical applications. Most recently, Dr. Takeya served as a special term appointee at Argonne National Laboratory.
